By October 1, 2019October 16th, 2019News

Bring on the bras!

Bring in your bras! Our Cares Committee is promoting breast cancer awareness month and will be decorating a tree outside our building with donated bras. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and this year, we’re doing our part to increase awareness. Did you know about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime?

We’re joining the fight!

Did you know for women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer? It’s important to spread awareness and be vigilant about breast cancer detection.

If you’ve driven by our office lately, you’ve seen that we’ve taken the liberty to hang bras and motivational signs for #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth. It’s a meaningful cause to many of our Sterling Insurance Group team members.

In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,930 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.

These statistics are staggering. Join us in doing something to combat the threat of breast cancer that both men and women face today – donate those unwanted bras!

Join us in the fight

Take part in the fun – drop off your unwanted bras at our Sterling Heights headquarters today! 💟💕💟
