Sterling Insurance Group sponsors Michigan CPA conference, leads course on Employee Benefit Captives
NOVI, Mich. – Sterling Insurance Group – a Top 200 Insurance Firm out of 37,000 nationwide – was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Management Information & Business Show, hosted by the Association of Michigan CPAs (MICPA).
The 2-day event was MICPA’s largest of the year, and typically draws in over 1,000 CPAs and accounting professionals from across the state. This year’s theme was Bright Ideas Illuminate.

Additionally, Sterling Insurance Group along with Pareto Captive Services led and informative course for guests focused on Employee Benefit Captives. The session, titled Turning Risk & Premiums into Profit, was led by Sterling Insurance Group’s own Vice President, Paul Mattes, and Regional Vice President at Pareto Captive Services, Justin Cifra.
Together, the pair took a deep dive into the “broken health care system,” even pointing out that the average time a patient will spend with their primary care doctors is 7 minutes.
“Employee Benefits Captives aid in reducing costs and risk in the insurance and healthcare space for employers,” said Cifra. “We help companies become self-insured and build a multi-year strategic plan. The captive limits bumps along the way, and simply acts a shock absorber.”
The event was hosted at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.
